Meet Our Students

 | | Jennie Wallengren - Councellor and Teacher Age: 37 Degree: BA Theology, Nursing Certificate Profession: Reverend (Ordained Minister), Teacher and Counsellor at Teen Challenge (David Wilkerson’s ministry in New York). |
What kind of ministry are you involved in today? Since August ’05 I have been working as a counsellor and teacher on the Women’s Program at Teen Challenge, where we help women with drug problems. I know I am in the perfect will of God, serving him by helping lost, messed up women literally back from death to life.
How are your studies helping you do this? Biblical academic studies give a deeper understanding of the Bible. The knowledge I gained at LOTS helps me much in my work as teacher and counsellor. The deeper, academic understanding I received there actually helps me to present the subject in a simpler way. An expert is one who can take a difficult and complicated thing and present it so that even a child can understand it.

 | | Remi Høidahl - Pastor and Bible Teacher Age: 36 Degree: BA, New Testament Profession: Pastor |
How did God call you to study at LOU? God put a deep desire in me to study the Bible more. Then God spoke to me to study theology at Livets Ord Theological Seminary.
What opportunities in ministry have your studies given you? I am now pastor and Bible school teachers at Word of Life and have had the opportunity to visit many nations: Taiwan, Russia, Ukraine, Finland, Armenia, Azerbaijan, India and Israel.
To be a servant of God and to help others to get to know God even more by preaching and teaching the Word of God.

 | | Thomas Lahti - doing missions Age: 38 Degree: BA, History major Profession: Missionary in Central Asia |
What made you attend LOTS? I wanted to learn more about God, more about myself, and more about the world around me.
How have your studies influenced the ministry you are in today? I feel better equipped for my task. I have a better foundation in the Word of God and have gained a deeper understanding of how things are connected. I had a lot of prejudices before, but my studies have helped me to broaden my horizons.
Why would you recommend LOTS? A Christian university in a living congregation is unique. LOTS has very able and competent teachers and the teaching is alive and interesting. |
