What to Study
The programs in Missions are designed to train competent professionals to carry the healing gospel “where God’s light is dim, where His voice is barely heard, where His healing power is not known, even to the uttermost bounds of the earth....” The curriculum presents a well-rounded philosophy of missions with emphases on Biblical principles, the ministry of healing, worldwide evangelism, church planting, and methods of effective cross-cultural communication. Mission studies prepare students for effective cross-cultural ministry in foreign missions organizations, home missions’ organizations, and other related ministries.
Livets Ord Theological Seminary offers training for missionaries especially through the following courses and programs:
The Master of Divinity Missions Concentration prepares students for professional ministry in the context of missions. Students concentrate on different aspects of missions, and undertake a practicum on the mission field.
The Bachelor of Arts New Testament Major with Missions Minor offers basic training for successful missionary work, in concert with New Testament Major Studies which provide a strong foundation in the Bible, study of church history, and systematic theology.
Are you already working on the mission field and feel a need to gain more knowledge? Internet courses offer a flexible way to study wherever you are in the world and courses like “Major Religions of the World” and “Christian Leadership” also provide useful knowledge for missionaries.
