 The Course Academic & Professional
The pastors’ course combines academic teaching given by Livets Ord University lecturers with professional training led by experienced leaders from Livets Ord Church where church building and mission are central themes.
Requirements
There are no knowledge requirements for this course. The course is designed pastors, priests, missionaries and church leaders in active ministry. Irrespective of previous knowledge, the course uniquely combines the opportunity to lay a foundation in classical theology whilst focusing on your spiritual life and that of your church.
Flexible Course Structure
The courses are adapted to suit pastors in active ministry. Consequently each course comprises 8 modules of intensive teaching held at Ribbingebäck Conference Centre on the outskirts of Uppsala. The duration of each module will be 9 days, 8 of which are scheduled teaching days. By combining intensive courses with home assignments carried out over most of the course duration, students are able to take the course whilst continuing in active ministry.

Situated in beautiful countryside, Word of Life retreat and conference centre, Ribbingebäck, has been developed to serve the needs of a modern centre for study, camps and retreats. The surroundings offer some of the finest opportunities for outdoor recreation. Students are offered accommodation and meals at Ribbingebäck during the course at the prices shown below.
Practical & Theoretical Courses
The Pastors’ Course includes theoretical and pastoral courses. While foundational subjects such as bible interpretation, dogmatics and ethics are covered, other modules focus on practical ministry and church development.
Certificates
Students who successfully complete the course are awarded a certificate.. The minimum requirement for this is 75% attendance and the completion of all course assignments.
Interpretation
Upon sufficient demand, teaching sessions will be interpreted to English.
Build on the Pastors’ Course
Following this course, Livets Ord University of fers a program specially designed for graduates of the pastors’ course. If you have completed a year of Bible School and taken the Pastors’ course, you may pursue further academic studies leading to a Diploma in Pastoral Ministry. These courses can be combined with other courses to attain academic degrees.
