Living in Sweden

For those moving to Uppsala for one year or many, the city has much to offer. In addition to your association with a strong and growing church, you can also take advantage of everything the city has to offer.

Uppsala has an exciting and vast history from the burial place of King Gustav Vasa, one of Sweden's greatest kings, to the castle on the hill, Linneaus' gardens to a vibrant university with over 30,000 students, Uppsala truly offers something for everyone!

Word of Life began in 1983. Livets Ord University is a part of the church that also houses primary, junior and high schools, and Word of Life Biblecenter.

If you would like your children to attend one of these schools, please apply in good time. Contact the School at +46 18 489 80 80. Word of Life's children's and youth work is extensive and offers many fun and sound activities. A truly unique mix that the whole family can be a part of and enjoy!

Housing

We request that married students live together for the duration of their university studies, whether one or both of them are students. There are no student dormitories in connection with the university and this means that the students are responsible for finding their own accommodation. Uppsala is a university town with plenty of accommodation.

Meals

Students are responsible for their own meals. There is a cafeteria at Livets Ord where lunch and snacks are served. Meal cards are available at a reasonable price.
